Emma Smith, My Story

RS Birthday Dinner Celebration is coming up!

Thursday March 26 at 6:30 in the Cultural Hall.

We will have celebrating Emma Smith's life by watching the new movie: "Emma Smith, My Story." It is a fabulous tribute to the extraodinary life that she had. It is very inspirational and a must see!

We will provide the hot dogs, and popcorn, so plan to come enjoy a very special event. And PLEASE don't forget to invite those you visit teach! Its sooooo important to do that!!

In conjunction with our RS Celebration, the RS is sponsoring a Ward Fireside on Sunday, March 29th at 7:00 in the Chapel. Our featured speaker is Mike Kennedy, a fourth-great-grandson of Joseph and Emma Smith, coming all the way from Utah for us! He was instrumental in the making of the Emma Smith movie and will come to share more stories and experiences with us.

It will be a real treat! Please plan on coming to this wonderful event.

Kalua Pork

Jessie Ena demonstrated this delicious dish at the February Enrichment night.

2.5 pounds pork (doesn’t matter the cut as long as there is not too much fat on it)
2 Tbs. Liquid Smoke
Salt to taste

Rub the meat with the liquid smoke, then the salt. Wrap the meat with foil. Fill your baking pan with 6 cups of water then put your wrapped meat in the pan and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, then drop it to 300 degreet for another 1 ½ hours. It can go in a crock pot just like any other meat. It’s a good recipe for big parties. The secret is the liquid smoke. It will make the meat taste and smell like it was baked in a UMU!
