Spotlight

Welcome to one of our newest Relief Society Members, Emylee Hill!


Emylee tested out of high school in September 2008.


She has been attending Palomar College & BYU online studies as well as Institute classes. She has completed 30 units of her undergraduate work, will be attending BYU in Provo for the summer, working this Fall and resuming her studies at BYU Winter semester.


She completed her Personal Progress requirements & received her YW's medallion.


She has been busy perfecting her photography skills, learning more about the gospel through scripture study, working out at the gym, spending time with good friends and attending the Vista 6th Young Adult ward. She has also been working on her sewing & cooking skills to help out when she's away at school. She enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding and spending time with her family.


Her favorite dessert has been her mom's chocolate cream pie....but recently became one of her mom's newest recipes... Lemon Blueberry Cheescake!!


Her favorite church song is "Choose the Right"


Her favorite scripture is 1 Nephi 3:7

" And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I awill go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no bcommandments unto the children of men, save he shall cprepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."

Announcements

Wow!! It's been awhile since we've blogged...must mean that we've been B-U-S-Y!!! Can't even remember everything we've done...just know its been a blur of activity & its picked up speed since summer began!!

Summer means family vacations, weddings & lots of fun, fun, fun!!

Hoori Poukshirazi entered the waters of baptism on Saturday, July 9th, 2010...and was confirmed Sunday, July 11, 2010...please take some time to extend a hand of fellowship to her...she has an amazing spirit and we are so excited to have her join us in Relief Society!!


Congratulations to Emilio Torres who was just married to Delia Trujillo on Saturday, July 10, 2010!! They are a beautiful young couple...and we wish them every happiness!!


We know many of you are on vacation right now...if you would like to share any pics of recent trips we'd be thrilled to add them to our blog!!

Upcoming activities: Ward "Picnic in the Park" Monday, July 12, 2010 at 5:00pm...catered BBQ dinner...Meet by the volleyball courts...bring your own chairs &/or a blanket...a few tables will be set up for those unable to sit on the ground...it promises to be an amazing night!!


JUST A REMINDER....THE SAN DIEGO TEMPLE IS STILL OPEN AND OPERATING DURING ITS CURRENT CLEANING....MANY HAVE INQUIRED IF IT IS OPEN DUE TO THE SCAFFOLDING SET UP AROUND THE OUTSIDE...IT WILL BE CLOSED JULY 26- AUGUST 9, 2010...SO GET THOSE FAMILY NAMES & HEAD DOWN TO THE TEMPLE NOW!!!
