Giving Tree Announcement

To our Ward family,

It’s hard to believe it’s really “that time of year” already and we need to be thinking towards the holidays! The Giving Tree has been a great opportunity for us to share with those in the ward who are facing difficult circumstances. We have so appreciated the generous support that we receive from all of you in your donations of gifts and money. This year we believe that circumstances are such that it’s even more difficult than in years past and our pockets aren’t quite as deep as they used to be!
The families that have benefited from the Giving Tree are always so very appreciative of the gifts that are given. We really want to continue this tradition of giving this coming season.
We would like to change it up a bit! This year we are going to call it the Giving Box! We will begin taking monetary donations immediately! Our reasoning behind this is that the closer it gets to the holidays, the more the demands are upon our budgets. This gives you an opportunity to work this into your families budget and gives you extra time to plan ahead.
Look for our Giving Box each week, and at activities from now until the beginning of December. To make a donation, you may use a tithing envelope and mark it:
Relief Society
Mark on the outside of the envelope that it is for the GIVING BOX
PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR TITHING DONATIONS IN THE SAME ENVELOPE! We are not allowed to accept or open tithing donations!
If you do not want a receipt of some kind, you may just put your donation in an envelope and place in the box. No matter how small your donation, it is greatly appreciated and your lives will be blessed for your efforts!
